Mastodon and Lemmy users pick their home instance — FediStation routes them to the right place automatically. Works across the entire federated network.

🗂️
FediFind Discoveries
Submit your articles to the open-web index at fedifind.com — making them discoverable to anyone searching the Fediverse. One-click submission, one-click resubmit.
🔒
Privacy First by Default
No Google Fonts on the frontend. No tracking pixels. No third-party analytics. Outbound calls only on explicit user action. Shadow DOM means your theme CSS is never affected.
⚙️
Per-Post Control
Show or hide the panel on any individual post or page via a simple metabox. Global defaults, per-post overrides — your content, your rules.
💬
FediBack — Coming in v2.0
Every Bluesky reply to a boosted post will appear as a guest comment thread on your article. The open web replies directly to your blog.

WordPress powers roughly 40% of all websites. That is not a statistic — it is the backbone of the open web. And yet, for most WordPress publishers, content ends at the edge of their site. It goes to Twitter. To Facebook. To Instagram. Into the algorithm. Into the wall.

FediStation changes that. Every article becomes a node — something the open social web can find, share, and discuss — without giving control to any platform that doesn't deserve it.

No data harvesting. No lock-in. No middleman deciding what your readers see. Just your content, reaching people on their own terms, on servers they own, through protocols that belong to everyone.

Four steps. Under two minutes.

1
Install from WordPress Plugin Directory
Search FediStation in your WordPress admin → Plugins → Add New. Or upload the fedistation folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
2
Activate the plugin
Go to Plugins in your WordPress admin and activate FediStation. The panel appears immediately on all single posts and pages.
3
Configure in the admin sidebar
Go to FediStation in your admin sidebar. Select which networks to show, enable the FediFind search bar, and optionally link your FediBoard account for Channel Boost.
4
Done
The side panel is live on your site. Your readers can share to the Fediverse from every article — no account required on their end.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do my readers need a FediBoard account?
No. Anyone can use the share buttons and the FediFind search bar without signing up for anything.
Does it slow down my site?
No. The frontend script and stylesheet are ~30KB combined and load asynchronously. The panel mounts in a Shadow DOM so your theme's CSS isn't affected.
Does it work with caching plugins?
Yes — WP Rocket, W3TC, LiteSpeed, SiteGround Optimizer, Autoptimize, and WP Super Cache. FediStation flushes common page caches automatically on settings save.
Does the plugin send data anywhere?
Only on explicit user action — boost, share, search, or FediFind submission. Anonymous aggregate analytics can be disabled entirely via: add_filter( 'fedistation_stats_enabled', '__return_false' );
What is Channel Boost and do I need it?
Channel Boost (FediShout) pushes your articles to topic-specific FediBoard Fediverse channels. It requires a free FediBoard account. It's optional — the core sharing panel works without it.

Privacy — by design, not as an afterthought

  • No frontend Google Fonts — system font stack only
  • No tracking pixels, analytics, or third-party scripts on the frontend
  • Outbound HTTP calls only when an explicit action is taken by the user
  • Linked FediBoard and FediFind accounts stored as WordPress options — removed on uninstall
  • Anonymous usage pings include only a random UUIDv4 site ID — never your domain, email, IP, or page URLs
  • Ships with human-readable, unminified JS and CSS — no build step, no compiled assets, nothing hidden
